FraudLens Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 9, 2026

FraudLens ("FraudLens", "we", "our", or "us") is a security utility designed to help users identify potential warning signs in suspicious messages, screenshots, and URLs.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information FraudLens accesses, how it is processed, what information is stored locally, and how third-party advertising services may process information.

1. Information We Process

FraudLens allows you to analyze suspicious messages, screenshots, and URLs.

The content you choose to analyze may include text, screenshots, images, URLs, or other information contained in the content you voluntarily provide to the app.

FraudLens performs its core message analysis, screenshot text extraction, and URL analysis locally on your device. We do not operate a remote server that receives your submitted messages, screenshots, extracted text, URLs, or risk scores for analysis.

2. Screenshot and Photo Access

If you choose to scan a screenshot or image, FraudLens may access the image you select for the purpose of extracting and analyzing its text.

Text extraction is performed on your device using the device's available on-device text recognition technology. Your selected screenshot or extracted text is not uploaded to a FraudLens server for analysis.

FraudLens does not continuously access your photo library. Access occurs only when you choose an image or screenshot for scanning and when required permissions are granted.

3. Messages and Text

When you paste or enter a message into FraudLens, the text is analyzed locally on your device to identify potential scam indicators and provide a risk assessment.

FraudLens does not send the message text to a remote FraudLens analysis server.

4. URLs

When you enter a URL into FraudLens, the URL is analyzed locally for structural warning signs such as insecure connections, IP-based addresses, suspicious URL patterns, and other indicators.

FraudLens does not require sending the URL to a FraudLens remote analysis server.

5. Scan History

FraudLens may store scan history locally on your device so that you can review previous analysis results.

Local scan history is stored on your device and is not uploaded to a FraudLens server.

You can delete individual history items or clear your scan history using the controls provided in the app.

6. Advertising

FraudLens uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.

Google AdMob and its related services may process information such as device information, advertising identifiers, approximate location or other advertising and interaction information in accordance with Google's applicable policies.

FraudLens does not send your screenshots, extracted screenshot text, messages, URLs, risk scores, or local scan history to AdMob for the purpose of performing FraudLens security analysis.

Google's handling of information through advertising services is governed by Google's own privacy policies and applicable settings and controls.

7. Third-Party Services

FraudLens may use third-party services or software development kits required for app functionality, advertising, analytics, distribution, or platform services.

Third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable terms.

8. Data Sharing

FraudLens does not sell your submitted messages, screenshots, extracted text, URLs, risk scores, or local scan history.

FraudLens does not share the content you submit for security analysis with a remote FraudLens analysis service.

Information may be processed by third-party services, such as advertising or platform providers, as described in this Privacy Policy and their applicable policies.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Core scan content and analysis are processed locally on your device.

Local scan history remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app's stored data, or uninstall the app.

FraudLens does not maintain a remote database containing your submitted messages, screenshots, extracted text, URLs, or risk scores for core security analysis.

10. Data Security

FraudLens is designed with a privacy-first architecture. Core security analysis is performed locally on the device rather than through a remote analysis server.

You should still avoid entering or sharing sensitive information unnecessarily. Never share your OTP, UPI PIN, banking password, card PIN, or other confidential credentials with anyone.

11. Children's Privacy

FraudLens is not specifically directed toward children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a remote FraudLens service.

12. Your Choices

You can choose what content to submit for analysis.

You can also delete locally stored scan history using the controls available within FraudLens.

You can manage applicable advertising and device privacy settings through your Android device and Google account settings.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when FraudLens functionality, data practices, or applicable requirements change.

Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
